Barley Protein 60 is a high quality, non-GMO protein extract obtained from sustainably harvested barley. By means of a highly advanced technological process, the product is isolated from the barley grain with a protein level of about 60%. After drying and homogenization, the protein meal is pelletized, improving product handling and reducing dust formation in processing lines. The result is a highly nutritional, functional and bland concentrate, with a consistent nutritional profile. The Barley Protein 60 is a sustainable and eco-friendly protein ingredient for various food and feed applications. As the raw material is grown, harvested and processed locally in Hungary, it has a much lower carbon footprint impact compared to other plant proteins, such as soy. Furthermore, the Barley Protein 60 has a high water efficiency, contributing to its sustainability score. The digestibility of protein, energy, lipid and lysine within our Barley Protein is high, but especially the phosphorous digestibility is significantly higher compared to conventional plant proteins. In digestibility trials and growth performance trials, our Barley Protein was compared to conventional CGM and SPC in diets for rainbow trout (Onchorhynchus mykiss) and Gilthead seabream (Sparus aurata). The results of these trials confirm that our Barley Protein can be a sustainable alternative to conventional corn gluten or soy protein concentrate used in aquafeed, with a similar nutritional quality.
